Have you ever been sitting in church, praying on your way to work, or listening to your favorite podcast, and someone popped in your head? Maybe the pastor said something about being a better friend, or about sharing our love for God with those around us. The friend that popped in your head is still seeking. When was the last time you talked to them? You write it down on a sticky note or a spare receipt, and you stick it in your bible, sun visor, or on your work computer. Three weeks later, you find the note, and you have not checked in with the person God laid on your heart. This is where REDUX comes in.

As a REDUX app user, you can create a profile for each relationship in your life to begin tracking your interactions. These relationships are the people in your life on pieces of paper in your sun visor, lists on your fridge, sticky notes in your office, or your prayer journal. REDUX keeps those we are helping at the forefront of our mind. In this way, we can build intentional fruitful relationships in Christ.

You can see when you last contacted each person, add notes on your conversations, and set reminders to pray and check back in with them. Keep yourself accountable as you follow the call to spread your faith. Every feature and function of the app will help you to focus on building your relationships and supporting others.

Each person will have a little icon next to their picture that represents your last contact with them. A little green flower means you talked to them recently, the small yellow plant means you haven’t spoken to them in a little while, and a red watering can mean you haven’t talked to them in quite some time. This is to help remind you to reach out to those people.

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.”

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (NIV)

In each relationship, you will have a timeline filled with your notes, tasks, and prayer requests. Relationships are the people in your life on pieces of paper on your car’s sun visor, on lists on your fridge, on sticky notes in your office.

Tasks are pretty simple. They're to remind you to email, meet for coffee, pray, anything you need. You upload prayer requests to remind yourself when to pray and to express your joy with every answered prayer.

When you add a note, you will write what you need to remember or landmark, choose a category and choose a focus area or fruit of the Spirit. A focus area is for something each follower or pre follower is trying to accomplish or overcome. When you tag a focus area, you are gaining those resources from others who have uploaded resources to those tagged areas.

Focus Areas

“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

Philippians 4:13 (ESV)

As you work on your relationships, you get to know your acquaintances and learn more about where they want to grow or need to build. This info gives you your focus area list for each person and can change over time through every season of life. Tagging focus areas will cause relevant resources to flow to your fingertips. The focus areas are entirely customizable. They are for people struggling with addiction to people who want to know more about mission trips. The possibilities are endless.

This vital feature directly addresses struggles, worries, or trouble getting started in a relationship with the Lord, and so much more. Focus area progress helps you encourages friends who are looking to follow what God has called them to do. REDUX comes alongside to help those who are struggling. Mission trips, youth leadership, divorce, and drug addiction are just a few examples of possible focus areas. We use focus areas to make connections in notes, tasks, or prayer requests so we can provide the best resources. Fantastic resources are the backbone of the platform.

Fruit of the Spirit

The fruits of the Spirit appear in each relationship you add. When you begin adding notes, you can mark if they show the fruit of the Spirit, or if they need help in an area like joy or peace. This feature helps the user (that's you) gather resources to help your friend with the specific issues they are facing.

Similarly to tagging focus areas, you can tag the fruits of the Spirit. Based on our research, we found that mapping relationships based on the fruits of the Spirit allow us to measure not only the state of the person but in the big picture, the state of the organization, or a group. This can be a great help to a church administrator who has a congregation using REDUX.

A relationship that has positive notes about waiting or seeking the Lord’s timing would indicate a person that might have the gift of patience.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law.”

Galatians 5:22-23 (ESV)

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law.”

Galatians 5:22-23 (ESV)

Color Mapping

Much like the contact icon on each relationship, each focus area and fruit of the Spirit will have a color to give you an overview of the relationship. Green means good. A focus area will be green if you put in a lot of positive notes. Yellow means in the middle. A person in the yellow might need help in this area. Red appears over a focus area when you have made a note about reverse progress in the relationship. If someone has a bad day, is experiencing negative emotions, or conveys relapse in any way, you select the thumbs down on the note. The color of the focus area shows a range between red and green to help you map where your relationship might need help.

Resources work to improve the users assisting the people that need support. These resources come about in two ways. Globally, organizations, churches, and faith leaders upload content that displays for everyone (REDUX partners like Christian colleges and Locally, you can access your organization's or church's content they have created for you. Organizations sort the content based on what they think will fit each focus area or fruits of the Spirit best. Share resources within the app or externally to your friends.

Churches and small groups can load unlimited resources for any subject. People need help with so many things. The people around you are going through divorces, some are fighting depression, and some are battling addiction. Many of your friends are searching for their calling or looking for meaning in life. From misstep to missions, REDUX resources will be there to guide you and others.

Perhaps the most exciting feature of REDUX, the power of a notification. We know some people get many notifications, but some don't have too many turned on our phones. With REDUX, you can prioritize reminders to pray, meet with people, and so much more. This feature fills the gap we all struggle with, keeping our promises to meet people or check-in, or even the promise to ourselves and God to pray.
